USAJOBS: This is the official job search Web site of the United States government. All vacancies in every federal government agency are listed here. You can do a basic search by keyword, job category, and location. You can also search for jobs within specific agencies or by Occupational Series (all federal jobs are assigned a series number). Additionally, you can specify a salary range when you search for a job. To create an online resume you must become a My USAJOBS member. Membership also allows you to apply for jobs online. As you can with the other job-search sites, you can create automated job alerts.
GovtJobs.com: At this site you can search through job categories, or you can use the search box to specify a job title. Use it to find jobs with local governments, including states, counties, cities, and towns.
Careers In Government: At this site, you can search for jobs by selecting a job category, organization type, location, and salary.
U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook: This web site provides a listing of the job requirements, salary, and employment outlook for hundreds of jobs, along with job search tips and information on the job market in each state.
