Creamy-Crunchy Avocado Dip with Red Onions and Macadamia Nuts
This is one of the best dips you can make. Try it with bagel chips, pita toast, or even good corn chips.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 2
- 1 large ripe avocado, peeled, pit removed
- Juice of ½ fresh lime
- 2 tablespoons red onion, minced
- 2 tablespoons macadamia nuts, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Tabasco or other hot red pepper sauce
- Salt, to taste
Using a small bowl, mash the avocado and mix in the rest of the ingredients. Serve chilled.

Macadamia nuts are native to Australia and were introduced to Hawaii, where much of today's macadamia nuts are grown, in the early 1880s. These nuts are a great source of monounsaturated fats, making them a heart-healthy food.
