Grilled Tuna Steak with Vegetables and Pine Nuts
Grilled tuna is a favorite of dieters. The Asian vegetables in this recipe add some carbohydrates necessary for good health.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 2
1 cup napa cabbage, shredded
½ cup pea pods, coarsely chopped
½ cup carrots, shredded
3 tablespoons tomato sauce
¼ cup pine nuts, toasted
2 tuna steaks,
¼ pound each
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon lime juice
Salt and pepper, to taste
Poach the vegetables in the tomato sauce for 8 minutes or until crisp-tender. Add the pine nuts and set aside.
Set grill on medium-high. Spread the tuna with sesame oil, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Grill for 4 minutes per side for medium.
Serve with tomato-poached vegetables.
