Story Hours
You're never too young — or old — to hear a good story. For another fun (and free) outing in your community, take baby to story hour at your local library. Many are tailored to audiences with babies and small children, and several feature puppets as well.
Baby will enjoy the sights and sounds, but will also benefit from hearing stories read aloud. Encouraging this kind of social event as early as possible will help foster a love of books and reading later on — so this is definitely an activity worth participating in together!
Alert
Pack a diaper bag the night before a big outing, or during baby's nap-time. Never raid the diaper bag for diapers at home, or you may get caught diaper-less while you're out and about. Keep special toys (plastic mirrors, rattles, teethers or soft books) that only appear on outings so they will always seem fresh and new.
