Breast or Bottle?
Baby's first-ever need from you is food. Many babies, in fact, feed in those first few moments after birth. But whether you choose to breastfeed or bottle-feed, there are plenty of important considerations to mull over prior to making a decision. You'll need as much information as possible to ensure that the final decision is one that you feel good about and that baby draws the most benefit from in the long run.
You've probably heard from both sides on the issue of breastfeeding. Some mothers (and some doctors) will tell you that breastfeeding is the only way to make sure that baby is getting proper nutrition. Others will say that formula feedings now have better nutrients than they used to contain. Both of these arguments are actually correct.
Formula is better than it has ever been, and breast milk provides excellent protection against illnesses. So, what's a new parent to do? All things being equal, it really boils down to your own personal comfort level and core belief system.
Alert
If you don't feel comfortable with the way you are feeding your baby, your discomfort level will become evident to the baby, and you could wind up with some feeding problems.
