Establishing Naptimes and Feeding Times
You can schedule his naps for times that mesh well with the hours he sleeps at night. What time in the morning does he usually show signs of needing a nap? That would be a good time to schedule it. Try to put him to bed for his morning nap at a consistent time every day.

When you're deciding what the best time is for your baby's afternoon nap, keep in mind the fact that you want him awake at least four hours after he wakes from his afternoon nap before you put him in for the night. Think of how long he naps, work backward and do the math, and plan the time you'll put him to bed for his nap for a time no later than that.
In planning your baby's afternoon nap, a combination of factors will determine the time you schedule it, including what time he wakes from his morning nap, what time in the afternoon he usually shows signs of sleepiness, and what time he goes to bed at night.
The times at which you'll feed him may have to be adjusted to mesh with his sleeping schedule. As an infant, he'll still be feeding right before he naps and right before you put him in for the night. When you start him on rice cereal or other solid food, you'll want to plan that meal for at least an hour before his bedtime. So, his bedtime is the first consideration; naptimes and feeding times follow. Of course, his getting-up time will be of his body's own choice; when he's had enough sleep, he'll wake up, unless he's awakened earlier by the bustling around of other members of the household.
