Pronominal Compounds

Pronominal compounds are the only exceptions to the usual principle that the pronoun (whether it refers to a person or an object) concurs with the grammatical gender, number, and case of the noun it replaces.

Use da- instead of the proper pronoun. The preposition is compounded with this particle: davon, damit, etc. These compounds cannot refer to people.
