Essential Elements of Nouns by Jeffery Donley, Ph.D.

There are five different plural endings. The nominative singular, genitive singular, and nominative plural are the three principal parts of the noun. In order to master the German language, you must know the principal parts of the most frequently used nouns.

Questions 1–3 are in the nominative singular, questions 4–6 are in the genitive singular, and questions 7–9 are the nominative plural.

Practice translating from English into German the three principal parts of the following nouns. Match the English words with their German equivalents.
