Declining Weak Adjectives: Adjectives Preceded by der-words by Jeffery Donley, Ph.D.

The most common ending of the weak declension of the adjective is -en. Keep in mind that you have to attach the ending -e to the following five cases: the three nominative singulars and the accusative singulars of the feminine and the neuter cases. When one of the der-words has a distinct case ending coming before the adjective, you have to use the weak adjective declension.
