The verb fernsehen is used differently from its English equivalent “to watch television.” The prefix fern is placed at the end of the sentence and the word “television” doesn't even appear in the sentence: Wir sehen jeden Abend fern. (We watch television every evening.) Siehst du schon wieder fern? (Are you watching television again?)
