Musical Chairs
Rating: 5+
This party game can be played by any number of players, but more than ten make for the best game. You will need chairs or stools (one less than the number of players), and a tape recorder or radio that can easily be turned on and off.
For a small group, place the chairs in a line, facing alternately right and left. For a larger group, place the chairs in a giant circle, facing out, or facing right and left. Appoint one player or supervisor to control the music.
The game begins when the music is turned on. The players march around the line of chairs. Suddenly the music stops, and the players all try to seat themselves. The one who fails to get a seat takes one chair away, and goes out of the game. The game continues until only one player is left—the winner.
