Security Concerns

Far from being a little detail, security is something that needs to be carefully considered from several standpoints. First, you need to make sure attendees are safe and security is on hand in the event of a problem. Second, you need to make sure the funds you have raised so diligently are secure. Unless you are working on a political fundraiser where security will be more prevalent, try to maintain a low level of security that is discreet, yet present at all times.

Not all of your events and programs will be held at easily identifiable locations. Make sure people know where to park and how to find the entrance to the event. Good signage is important if the entrance to your event is not obvious. If parking is an insurmountable problem, a valet service may be a good solution.

Note fire regulations and other potential crowding situations when you do a walk-through of your site. Make sure there is always a path to fire exits and a smooth traffic flow so potentially dangerous overcrowding situations do not arise.
