The Indefinite Article
Indefinite articles are used with nouns that are not specific, and are similar to the English “a,” “an,” and “some.” There are three forms of indefinite articles in French:
un : when used before a word with masculine genderune : when used before a word with feminine genderdes : when used to indicate a group or more than one of an item
Indefinite articles are used when one is referring in general to an item.
