Use of Future with Si and Quand
With sentences beginning with
If I have the time, I will go to the movies. |
When sentences beginning with
When I go to Paris, I will see the Eiffel Tower. |
Note that this is different from English, which expresses the same idea using the present tense in the subordinate clause. Instead of saying, “When I will go to Paris,” English speakers say, “When I go to Paris.” English relies on the word “when” and the present tense “go” in order to imply the event will take place in the future.
