Intonation
Another way to ask a question is simply to raise your voice at the end of a sentence. This is called intonation. Intonation is usually combined with other ways of asking a question; most French speakers will ask questions with intonation even when the other methods are used, too. In informal situations, intonation can even be used on its own to turn a regular sentence into a question without changing the word order or adding a phrase like
Is Paul here? |
