Chocolate Banana Nut Bread
Heat up a slice of bread and spread on a little butter for a delicious treat. Try substituting the chocolate chips with chopped strawberries or apples.
INGREDIENTS | YIELDS 1 LOAF
- 1¾ cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ⅔ cup sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1½ cups bananas, mashed
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- ¼ cup walnuts, chopped
Freezing Day
In a small mixing bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In large mixing bowl, mix the butter, sugar, and eggs.
Alternate adding the flour mixture and bananas to the large mixing bowl, a little at a time. Mix just enough to combine — do not over mix. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts.
Pour into greased loaf pan and bake at 350°F for 1 hour–1 hour 10 minutes. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean.
Reheating Instructions
To defrost bread, wrap the loaf in plastic wrap and defrost at room temperature for 2–3 hours and serve.
