Once properly prepared, these tasty buds can be added to salads, soups, or other vegetable dishes.
INGREDIENTS | MAKES 2 CUPS
2 cups milkweed buds, large stems removed
Water to cover milkweed buds
1. Bring pot of water to a boil. Add milkweed buds and flowers. Boil for 1 minute. Strain water.
2. Bring a second pot of water to a boil. Again, add buds and flowers and boil for 1 minute. Drain and serve as a side dish or added to other vegetables.
