Pears
Ripe pears can be difficult to find in the supermarket. You may find that they're ripe one day and overripe the next. You can use under-ripe pears in cooked recipes, like Pear Crisp and this sandwich recipe. Keep the skin on for more fiber and to help the pears hold their shape when they're cooked.
