Ham Pizza
Ham and pineapple are natural partners. Paired with a spicy-sweet sauce and baked on a pizza, they're even more delicious.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 8
- 1 (8-ounce) can crushed pineapple
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup Tomato Sauce
- 2 tablespoons gluten-free chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 (4-ounce) can chopped green chilies, drained
- 1 Pizza Crust, prebaked
- 1½ cups ham, diced
- 1½ cups shredded dairy-free, vegan mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 400ºF. Thoroughly drain pineapple, pressing down on fruit in sieve; reserve juice.
In medium skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion; cook and stir until tender, about 7 minutes.
Add Tomato Sauce, ¼ cup reserved pineapple juice, chili sauce, honey, and green chilies; simmer 10 minutes.
Remove sauce from heat and stir in drained pineapple and chiles.
Spread sauce over Pizza Crust. Top with ham and mozzarella cheese.
Bake 20–30 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and cheese melts and begins to brown.

Ham
Ham can be found in many forms. You can buy whole hams, sliced ham, ham steaks, or thin slices of boiled ham. If ham is diced or sliced in a recipe, you can use any form you'd like. Hams are dry cured or wet cured, then usually smoked or dried. Canadian bacon can be substituted for ham.
