Sweet Banana Chutney
Balsamic vinegar helps bring out bananas' natural sweetness. This fruit chutney makes a nice accompaniment to savory pork.
INGREDIENTS | YIELDS ⅔ cup
- 2 large bananas
- ¼ teaspoon allspice
- ⅓ cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon water
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
Peel and thinly slice the bananas.
In a medium saucepan, bring the balsamic vinegar and sliced bananas to a boil. Continue to cook the mixture, stirring frequently, until the bananas and vinegar are fully blended. If using smaller bananas, add more slices as required.
Stir in the brown sugar and allspice. Add the water if needed. Heat through.
Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve with the fondue.
