Pumpkin Spice Fondue
You can substitute orange or tangerine for the pineapple slices. For an added treat, serve with pumpkin-flavored ice cream.
INGREDIENTS | SERVES 6
- 3 cups pineapple slices
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ cup half-and-half or light cream
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves, or to taste
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 15–20 small cookies
If using canned pineapple slices, pat dry on a paper towel. Refrigerate the slices.
Combine the chocolate chips and cream in a metal bowl and place on top of a saucepan half-filled with simmering water. Add the honey.
Melt the chocolate on low to medium-low heat, making sure that it doesn't boil.
When the chocolate is melted, stir in the cinnamon, nutmeg, and ground cloves.
Serve with the pineapple slices and cookies for dipping.
Spicy Pumpkin
Cooks disagree on the ideal spice combination for enhancing pumpkin's mildly sweet flavor. Most recipes include ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, but ground ginger and allspice are frequently added. Furthermore, the ratio of ingredients can vary. If you have your own favorite pumpkin spice recipe, feel free to use 1fl teaspoons of it in place of the spices in Pumpkin Spice Fondue.
