Toasted Bread Cubes

Use these flavorful bread cubes in place of regular bread cubes when you want to add a bit of extra flavor to a cheese fondue.

INGREDIENTS | SERVES 4–6

  • 1 loaf whole wheat bread, sliced
  • ½ cup melted butter or olive oil
  • ¼ cup caraway seeds
  1. Brush 1 side of each bread slice with 1 teaspoon of the melted butter and sprinkle with ½ teaspoon of the caraway seeds. Broil the bread on that side.

  2. Repeat with the remaining butter and caraway seeds on the other side; broil.

  3. Cut the toasted bread into rectangular cubes approximately 2 inches long and 1 inch wide.
