My Favorite Things Fondue

Serves 8

1½ pounds milk chocolate with almonds

1 cup heavy cream

2 cups flaked coconut

2 cups multicolored sprinkles

Oreos

Rice Krispy Treats, quartered

Cake donut holes

Large marshmallows

Small children love this dish — but be careful, they usually spend more time dunking and rolling than eating.

  • Combine chocolate and cream in a saucepan over low heat. Warm, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted and mixture is creamy.

  • Divide coconut into 8 dipping bowls and do the same with sprinkles.

  • Pour dark chocolate mixture into 1 or more fondue pots and place over heating source on lowest setting. Allow guests to dip Oreos, Treats, donuts, and marshmallows in chocolate, then roll dippers in coconut or sprinkles.

Kid-safe Fondue

Chocolate stays melted for a good while. If you're hosting a party of ery small children, consider dividing the chocolate fondue among several microwave-safe bowls. You'll eliminate the stress of having an open flame on the table. Let them dunk away and if the chocolate starts to stiffen, just pop it in the microwave for a few seconds.
