Filmmakers as a group are instinctively independent. They have a vision and they want to show that vision to the world regardless of how it gets done or on what scale. Independent filmmakers are a breed apart. They're bold and controversial, and stare adversity in the face, but for good reason — making a film on your own is no easy feat. If you have the will, there's a way, but be prepared for a long and bumpy ride.
