Menstrual Problems
If you had bad menstrual problems in the past, chances are that they got worse when you developed fibromyalgia. This is especially true during a flare-up. You may experience more cramps, irregular blood flow, blood clots, or greater-than-normal blood flow. And if you suffer from PMS, those symptoms may worsen as well.
If your periods have become intolerable, talk to your primary doctor or OB-GYN and get help. Getting enough sleep, conserving your energy levels, and eating a healthy diet can help minimize menstrual symptoms, too. And anti-inflammatories or antidepressants may be beneficial in severe cases.
