Toy Stores

Washington D.C. has a number of delightful independent toy stores that are thriving because the chain toy stores are located in the malls on the outskirts of the city. Many of the stores have a regular program of readings and milk and cookies, so call before you visit.

TRAVEL TIP

Although the District has so many museums and museum stores, even in airports and locations throughout the city, it's hard to find a regular chain toy store in the city itself. You have to go to the suburbs to find a Toys R Us or K-B Toys.
