Washington is a showplace of America's living history. The many statues, parks, and buildings erected in tribute to the people who have contributed to making the United States the proud country it is keep us close to our heritage. The most potent of these memorials commemorate four of our greatest presidents — Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt. Each of these presidential sites is awe-inspiring at any time, but the best way to see them is at night, when they are illuminated. It's also interesting to see them together so you can put their history into perspective.
