The College Park Aviation Museum
The Museum is located on the grounds of College Park Airport, the world's oldest continuously operating airport. The state-of-the-art facility uses animatronics and interactive exhibits, memorabilia, photographs, aviation-related books and manuscripts, oral histories, and information kiosks to tell the story of College Park Airport's significance in aviation history. The facility has a curved roofline reminiscent of an early Wright aeroplane that houses an open, one-and-a-half-story exhibit area for full-size aircraft, as well as display and exhibition areas. The deck off the second-floor gallery offers a clear view of the airfield. You can get some unusual souvenirs at the Prop Shop Gift Shop. The museum is open to the public for selfguided tours from 10
You can maintain the theme by dining nearby at the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant (5240 Paint Branch Pkwy., College Park, 301-699-9400). It is designed to look like a 1919 French farmhouse and serves lunch and dinner daily.
