Overscheduling

Many travelers, especially those with limited time for travel, may be tempted to pack too much in with too little time. Set a schedule and stick with as much as you can. Trying to pack too many activities into too little time while traveling can cause frayed nerves, temper tantrums, and little enjoyment of the RV lifestyle.

You should plan on driving only four to five hours each day, and take the time to make sufficient rest stops during your hours of driving. Stop early and find a place to enjoy the evening. Be sure to figure in the time it takes to set up camp and break down camp in the morning. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to back into an RV space in the dark.

Take enough time to travel. Many Americans have been forgetting about the two-week vacation and are now taking short vacations that consist of long weekends. This limits the amount of time they have and can cause more stress in the end.

A survey of several top executives around the country found that most felt their job performance was greatly improved after an extended vacation of two to three weeks. With more time to travel, you will not feel compelled to try to cram too much into too little time.
