Driving at Night
According to the National Safety Council, the number of traffic deaths is three times greater at night than during the day. Avoid driving at night if at all possible, and plan your trip accordingly. If you need to get there that quickly, perhaps you should just consider flying rather than driving.
Driving While Medicated
Taking medication while operating your RV can clearly affect your alertness and ability to concentrate. Prescription and over-the-counter medications both have the capability to cause impairment. If you are taking any medication and plan to drive your RV, it's important to read the drug label before getting behind the wheel to confirm that drowsiness is not a side effect. Alcohol can enhance the effects of these medications.
FACT
Carry all medications (even over-the-counter medications) in their original packaging in order to retain the warning labels. Many medications interact with each other, and not knowing what they are may prove deadly.
