How Much Can You Pull?
The first place to look for information on a vehicle's towing capacity is in the owner's manual. Look in the index for a listing about “towing” or “towing a trailer.” The manual should tell you if your vehicle could tow a trailer at all. If you read that towing a trailer is not recommended, then close the manual and start looking for another tow vehicle.

If you have lost the owner's manual or you have a vehicle you bought used without an owner's manual, you can go directly to the manufacturer for the information you need. Look for the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on the vehicle (along with the make and model year), and a call to the manufacturer should give you the information you need.
