Resort Vacations

There are many RV campgrounds that should correctly be classified as luxury resorts. These privately owned campgrounds often rival exclusive resorts in the amenities they offer. They are often found in the more expensive resort areas and offer a luxury RV experience to travelers who prefer not to stay in hotels, but demand high-quality, luxurious surroundings.

These resorts are not cheap, with overnight fees rivaling many upper-end hotel chain prices. They will cost less than the nightly charges at an equivalent luxury resort, and provide many of the same benefits. You also have the comfort of your own bed and belongings and food of your own liking.

You will find that these RV resorts cater to the large Class A and bus-conversion RVs by providing pull-through concrete berths for ease of entry and setup. These sites will have full hookups, many including 50-amp services, in addition to the standard water and sewer. You will often have cable TV hookups and telephone service. You may also find attractions such as:

  • Golf course with full pro shop

  • Massage services

  • Child-care facilities

  • Self-improvement classes

  • Dance classes

  • Exercise facilities

  • Meeting and conference facilities

  • Game rooms

  • Shopping

  • Pet sitting

  • Pool and sauna

  • Transportation and discounted tickets to local attractions

  • Entertainment

ALERT

When you make reservations at one of these resorts, watch out for hidden costs. The up-front fee may only cover the basic costs of the RV site. There may be additional, (and costly) fees for the extras.
