Fleet Week

Navy ships from all over the country and abroad gather at Pier 88 at the foot of West Forty-eighth Street in Manhattan and Homepoint Pier in Staten Island where they are open to the public for viewing. Meet sailors and see military demonstrations. Note: the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, the usual Fleet Week anchor, is closed until the fall of 2008.
