This charming two-story restaurant provides a pleasant background to the sophisticated menu at moderate prices.

Vincent's ($$)

119 Mott Street, at Hester Street

Canal Street station (J, M, N, Q, R, W, Z, or 6 train)

212-226-8133

In 1904, Giuseppi and Carmela Siano moved inside, from a pushcart on the corner, and the Original Vincent's Restaurant has been there ever since. The original recipe Sicilian red sauce still forms the basis of the large, typical Italian selection. This is a casual, family-friendly place, and you'll want to dine outdoors when the weather permits.
