Where to Go After Dark

Cool evenings in Mérida offer many opportunities for people-watching. The Teatro José Peón Contreras and Teatro Daniel Ayala both have dance and theater performances. Every Wednesday at 9 P.M., the Folkloric Ballet of the University of Yucatán presents a lively program of music and dance called Yucatán and Its Roots in the Teatro José Peón Contreras. If you like to dance, join the fun at El Jabín, Antrox, and Tequila Rock Discos, or perhaps try something a little more daring, like Latin salsa at the Mambo Café.
