The only European-style spa in Guanajuato is Spa Hotel Hacienda de Cobos, where you can get a massage or a facial and then relax in the circular skylit conservatory (473-732-6815). You'll also discover hot springs between Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende. Called balnearios, some have waterslides, wave pools, and mineral pools. In Dolores Hidalgo, visit the Balneario El Oasis, and near San Miguel, go to Hacienda Taboada (473-152-0888), a spa built on mineral springs used by the Chichimec and Otomi Indians, where you can also stay overnight and partake of the usual spa treatments, or to Balneario La Gruta (473-152-2530), a natural hot spring — all on the highway from Dolores Hidalgo.
