The Local Weather
Throughout the year, the temperature in Puerto Rico ranges from 75 to 85 degrees, with the temperature maxing out in August, during the rainy season. Particularly during the rainy season, expect frequent but short rainfalls, typically in the afternoon. As in much of the Caribbean, the worst period of local weather usually occurs during hurricane season, which lasts from June 1 to November 30. However, most tourists have no trouble enjoying their vacations, even during this period.
If a hurricane is in the forecast, ample precautions can be taken. If you're traveling during hurricane season, purchasing optional travel insurance is definitely a good idea. This will ensure that you are reimbursed if your trip is cut short or cancelled due to bad weather.
