PUERTO RICO IS THE fourth-largest island in the Caribbean. It measures 100 miles long and thirty-five miles wide, covering more than 3,500 square miles. While most people are familiar with San Juan, which is the most popular tourist destination on the island, vacationers can also find plenty of resorts, hotels, and tourist attractions all over the island.
One thing you'll notice immediately upon arriving in Puerto Rico is that this island nicely combines old and new. The resort accommodations, for example, tend to be ultramodern, while in many areas, you'll be surrounded by historic sights, natural (undeveloped) landscapes, lovely beaches, lush forests, or even mountains.
