It is surprising, given the number of people out there who own timeshares, that so few consumer groups have popped up around the industry. In the United States, for instance, just two organizations have come to dominate the consumer-news and chat scene (though a third, launched in 2004, is hoping to make inroads). Meanwhile, at the industry level, well-known organizations such as the National Association of Realtors and the Better Business Bureau continue to be a good source of information for protecting yourself against fraud.
