THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WHO BUY timeshares nowadays are purchasing them direct from developers. Sometimes the units are part of a brand-new complex, sometimes they are the last remaining units in a sold-out resort, and sometimes they are nothing more than a yet-to-be-built vision in the developer's mind. Buying from a developer, instead of on the resale market, certainly has its advantages, but there are also drawbacks that you should keep in mind before you sign on the dotted line.
