Muesli
Muesli means “mixture,” and it began as a health food developed by Swiss physicians in the 1800s. Today it is a breakfast staple around the world. Mixtures vary, as does soaking time. The longer the soak, the softer the oats become.
INGREDIENTS
- ½ cup rolled oats
- ½ cup raisins
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 cups fat-free milk
- ¼ cup sliced almonds
- ¼ cup nonfat yogurt
- 1 apple, grated
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Combine oats, raisins, honey, and milk in a bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes, or overnight for softer oats.
Before serving, stir in almonds, yogurt, apple, and sesame seeds.
