The Freshman Ten
On many campuses, the cost of meals at the cafeteria is included in the tuition. That means there is a never-ending supply of macaroni and cheese, and soft-serve ice cream. The temptation is too much for most kids, which is why they have a name for the poundage gained in the first year away from home.
This phenomenon is not limited to college life, however. The first time kids are left to fend for themselves, without restrictions or visible consequences, they will, like monkeys caged for 18 years, go wild. One way to help arm them against the free-for-all frenzy of the young single life is with some really good recipes. They will serve as an alternative to late-night fast food and also save them money. In addition they will definitely impress their friends. What more could they want?
