Healthy Decision Making
When your children finally leave the nest, all you can do is hope for the best. If it is college life they’re heading off to, take some time to review nutrition and healthy habits. Campus life is brutal to good nutrition, but the lessons learned throughout childhood and adolescence can carry them through relatively unscathed.
Once again, emphasis on food as fuel can make the point. A balanced diet will provide increased stamina for late-night studying and long-winded lectures. And a healthy diet will help them bounce back after the inevitable parties. If you focus on the goal, the road to it can seem less daunting.
Why not suggest a homemade meal as their gift for Mother’s or Father’s Day, an anniversary, or a birthday? It will be cheaper for them, and more meaningful than another necktie or bottle of perfume.
