The Lost Continent

Out of all the areas within Islands of Adventure, the Lost Continent is the smallest. It'll appeal mainly to people in their teens or early-adult years looking for the thrill of a roller coaster ride they won't soon forget.

You'll find out what it is when Poseidon himself opens a portal to the underseas through a 42-foot swirling vortex of water. This is the gateway to Atlantis! During your adventure, Zeus suddenly appears and challenges Poseidon on your behalf. Watch out, or you could get caught in the deadly battle between the gods! This is a walk-through attraction that features live actors and many stunning special effects. Young children might find it scary.

You'll soar up to 125 feet in the air and travel at speeds of 55 miles per hour on one of two distinct, yet simultaneously running tracks that put you perilously close to collision. At one point, the two tracks bring riders within a foot of each other. No matter which track you experience, this is an inverted coaster, so your legs will be dangling freely.

Dueling Dragons is a thrill ride in every sense of the term, so if you don't like high-speed and turbulent roller coasters, you'd best skip it. Since this is one of the most popular attractions within the park, expect a long line. It's best to check out this coaster first thing in the morning or during peak mealtimes. The coaster has a capacity of 3,264 riders per hour, so while the line may seem long, it moves constantly. It's a favorite among thrill seekers!

ô This is a must-see attraction.
