Port of Entry
Upon passing through CityWalk, you'll find yourself at Port of Entry, the main entrance to Islands of Adventure. This area contains a handful of shops, a package pickup station, plus a few snack areas. Port of Entry is an ideal meeting spot if you and the people you're traveling with happen to become separated. In the Port of Entry, you'll also find restrooms, lockers, ATMs, public telephones, the lost and found, and Guest Services. Stroller and wheelchair rentals are also available here.
Shopping
The shops you'll find in the Port of Entry area include:
De Foto's Expedition Photography — Film, camera supplies, batteries, and anything else you'll need to take vacation pictures can be found here. As you enter into Islands of Adventure, professional photographers will be on hand, snapping pictures and welcoming guests. If you choose to purchase the picture taken of you and your family, you can pick it up at this location.
Island Market and Export — Candy, gourmet foods, and gift baskets are among the edible offerings sold here.
Ocean Trader Market — Carver and loom artists sell their crafts here.
Port Provisions — T-shirts, caps, rain ponchos, and souvenirs are sold here.
Silk Road Clothiers — Travel wear, leather bags, jewelry, gifts, and souvenirs are sold at this shop. Any of your purchases made within the park can also be delivered to this location (near the entrance/exit of Islands of Adventure).
TRAVEL TIP
Once you've explored some of the shops located within the Port of Entry, it's time to travel toward the various islands. You'll probably want to travel to the right if you're with young kids, or to the left if you're traveling with teens and/or adults. You can also climb aboard the Island Skipper Tour boat and experience a sea voyage that takes you directly to Jurassic Park.
Dining
Throughout the park, you'll find a wide range of dining options, including several full-service restaurants, many snack shops, and countless food kiosks. Pizza, burgers, hot dogs, and chicken dishes are among the main entrées offered.
Confisco Grille (and Backwater Bar) is a full-service restaurant featuring personal pizzas, pasta, fresh seafood, grilled meats, specialty burgers, and fresh desserts. Reservations are accepted. Get autographs and photos with some of your favorite Universal Studios Islands of Adventure characters during the Confisco Grille Character Lunch. There's no extra charge — just the normal cost of your menu selections. The Confisco Grille is open every Monday through Friday from noon until 2:00 A.M.
Other dining options within the Port of Entry area include: Arctic Express (featuring fruit-topped funnel cakes, Belgian waffles, wafflecone sundaes), Croissant Moon Baker (fresh-baked pastries and desserts, coffee, cappuccino, espresso, latte, beer, wine, and soda), and Spice Island Sausages (grilled Italian sausage sandwiches, jumbo hot dogs, corn dogs, fresh-cut French fries, beer, wine, and soda).
