Shopping at the Studios
While visiting the Studios, chances are you'll want to pick up some souvenirs. Whether you're looking for Disney-themed clothing, collectible Disney animation cells, one-of-a-kind autographed Hollywood memorabilia, or some other gift or souvenir item, chances are you'll find it at one of the shops located within this park. If you're looking for something in particular, but don't know where to find it, call the Disney Merchandise Hotline at (407) 824-5566. A few of the unique gift shops at the Disney-MGM Studios that are worth checking out include:
The Darkroom — In addition to being able to rent video camcorders from this shop, you can also purchase Kodak film, batteries, disposable cameras, and just about any photographic accessory you need. Two-hour photo processing is also available from here, as well as from several other shops within the Studios that have a sign to this effect in the window or on the counter.
Mickey's of Hollywood — Logo-imprinted Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney Studios, and Disney-MGM Studios merchandise and clothing are the main thrust of what's offered at this shop.
Planet Hollywood Super Store — Theme dining Hollywood-style is possible only at Planet Hollywood restaurants. The world's largest Planet Hollywood restaurant can be found at Disney's West Side. For souvenirs from Planet Hollywood, however, drop into this popular shop.
Sid Cahuenga's One-of-a-Kind — Out of all the shops within this park, with the exception of the Animation Gallery, only this one offers extremely interesting and unique non-Disney merchandise. What you'll find here are one-of-a-kind autographed photos, posters, and books, plus items once owned by celebrities.
The Writer's Shop — This small shop is a bookstore where the Disney-MGM Studios often hosts well-known authors for special book-signing events. There's also a gourmet coffee kiosk within the shop.
