SeaWorld Overview

SeaWorld owns the least amount of land when compared to WDW and Universal, so they only have two parks; however, they provide more adventure programs (over 200!) than any park in the world. Here is an overview of SeaWorld:

  • 2 Parks

  • 1 Water park (coming in 2008)

  • 30+ Places to dine

  • 4+ Bars/lounges

  • 1 Character meal

  • 2 Live-animal dining experiences

  • 1 Dinner show

  • 9 Tours

  • 200+ Adventure Camps

While Disney's Animal Kingdom offers guests an up-close look at land-based animals living in their natural habitats, SeaWorld offers a look at sea creatures and combines that experience with rides, shows, and other attractions. In addition, a second theme park, called Discovery Cove, offers an even more personalized look at some of the ocean's most amazing creatures, including dolphins.

SeaWorld is a 200-acre park that's open year-round, from 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. (with extended hours during the summer months and holiday periods). To truly see the majority of what SeaWorld has to offer, you'll need at least eight hours. If you haven't visited this park in a while and you have an extra day in your travel itinerary, it's well worth experiencing, especially if you're traveling with kids and teens.

Both SeaWorld and Discovery Cove are owned and operated by Anheuser-Busch. For more information about these two theme parks, call (800) 4-ADVENTURE or (407) 351-3600. You can also visit the Sea-World Web site at www.seaworld.com.

FAST FACT

Like any theme park or tourist attraction, gift shops, snack shops, and restaurants are all in abundance throughout the SeaWorld park. Guest services such as wheelchair rentals, locker rentals, kennels, first aid, ATMs, and a foreign currency exchange are all available within the park.

Getting to SeaWorld

SeaWorld is located at the intersection of Interstate 4 (I-4) and the Beeline Expressway (approximately ten minutes south of downtown Orlando and fifteen minutes from the Orlando International Airport).

The easiest way to reach SeaWorld (from the airport, the WDW Resort, or Universal Orlando Resort) is via car; however, taxi service and shuttle buses are available.
