Sorting Through the Choices

Finding a hotel in Honolulu might seem intimidating, given the sheer number of choices, but price and location tend to be prime consideration. Some active people don't care how fancy their rooms are because they're out all day experiencing the attractions. Others like to sit on a breezy porch and read. Some brand-loyal folks prefer to stay at a Hyatt, Doubletree, Marriott, or some other chain. Some hotel chains, like Aston, Ohana, and Outrigger conveniently offer programs for kids. Whatever your style, you are strongly encouraged to select a few that might interest you and then visit their Web sites. Some of them offer truly incredible bargains and Internet specials. The following hotel listings are arranged by price.

FAST FACT

There are a few major hotels on Oahu that are outside of Honolulu, like the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore and the Marriott Ko Olina properties in west Oahu. They really do have a different ambience than the Honolulu scene, yet aren't outrageously far from the big city or the airport.
