Sorting Through the Choices
With so many tourists, you might expect a nice range of hotel prices from budget to deluxe. Not so on Maui, where almost everything is on the beach and the average room tends to be a bit pricier. But if you can afford it, it'll be well worth the expense. Many of the accommodations are exceptional. But if you're concerned about prices, try looking for a condominium unit to rent.
The Land of Condos
On Maui, there are condominiums as far as the eye can see. Many are set up as resorts on the beach or near a golf course, complete with swimming pools and other features normally offered at hotels. They can be sought out and rented almost like hotel rooms. There are several Web sites that will help you find a house or condo to rent.

RAINY DAY FUN
There might be times when the weather just doesn't work with your beach-going desires. Rather than fret about the rain, how about declaring a history-and-culture day and visiting some of Maui's museums? You might find a walking tour of Lahaina's historical sites to be quite fascinating, or you may want to visit the Bailey House and the Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museums.
