When it comes to places to stay on lovely Lanai, there aren't very many choices. There's a nice, quaint small hotel in Lanai City, a few B&Bs and condos, and two expensive and stunning worldclass resorts.

Located inland in Lanai City, the Lanai Hotel was opened in 1923 as a guest house for pineapple industry executives. Until relatively recently, it was the only hotel on Lanai. The hotel maintains 10 guest rooms along with a cottage and is home to an excellent restaurant, Henry Clay's Rotisserie. (Chef Henry Clay Robinson and his family own and operate the hotel and restaurant.) Room rates start at $105.

Located in Lanai's beautiful wooded uplands, the Lodge presents first-class accommodations and excellent dining and offers a variety of island activities. The resort is home to the Experience at Koele championship golf course. Rooms start at $375.
Manele Bay Hotel www.manelebayhotel.com
The hotel sits on a bluff overlooking Hulopo'e Bay. Owned by the same company that manages the Lodge at Koele, the hotel is likewise a high-end spectacular resort and maintains a magnificent golf course, the Challenge at Manele. Rooms start at $375.
